21ct Welo Opal Limb Cast Specimen

Welo Ethiopian hydrophane opal Limb cast mineral specimen with an amazing play of color.  A limb cast opal is an opal that has filled the cavity of an old tree limb or root that eroded away leaving an empty pocket for the opal to form in. Not only that, but this piece is very fine cutting material that will have a great yield in a finished gem (most likely best for a carving with this piece). We recommend that this opal material NOT be submerged in water (unless it is being cut, water will keep it cool), and it should never have any oils applied to it. Also, due to the hydrophane nature of this opal, the weight can vary slightly with humidity. We consider this to be a Thumbnail (TN) sized specimen.
