Welo Ethiopian hydrophane opal mineral specimen with an amazing play of color. This piece would also look great "as is" in a unique rough pendant. We wouldn't necessarily say that this would be the best for cutting material. You could get a gem from it, but it will either be small or included. We recommend that this opal material NOT be submerged in water (unless it is being cut, water will keep it cool), and it should never have any oils applied to it. Also, due to the hydrophane nature of this opal, the weight can vary slightly with humidity. We consider this to be a Thumbnail (TN) sized specimen.
